The Sg Jelok joins up with Sg Langat. Both rivers flow thru Kajang town and Sg Langat eventually flows out into the sea at Klang.
In the year 2007, the BN Selangor govt created a flood mitigation project that was going to build a canal to conn ect Langat River with Klang River to prevent each river from over-flowing.
However, in Feb 2011, the Pakatan State Govt cancelled this flood mitigation project and sold off the land for housing development including an incredibly undervalued land sale payable over 20 years to Tropicana in April 2013.

Since then, Kajang has experienced bad flooding many times over the past few years including yesterday.
According to Penang CM, we know that "No heavy rains means no flooding" but is it possible that "If the Canal City flood mitigation project wasn't cancelled, would there be less flooding in Kajang?"
